Converting your image to a smart object allows you to edit your image in a non-destructive way, and lets you drag and drop your effects to another image. At any moment you can double click on the effects to re open the dialogs and make changes to the adjustments.

Using the Shadows/Highlights adjustments as a Smart Filter we are going to create a Very high contrast and Sharp image.

a) Double-click on the “Background” layer to make it editable.

d)   Adjust the Tonal with in the shadow to 8% and in the highlights to 33%. The total with adjust how exaggerated the effect will appear.

e)    Color correction saturates or desaturates the image.

f)     In the adjustment section increase the Midtone to 16%

Step 3 Sharpen the image

a)    Filter > Sharpen > Unsharp Mask

b)   Amount to 176 %

c)    Radius to 9.8 pixeles

d)   Threshold to 27 levels

Step 4 Add a surrounding shadow

a)    Add a Layer Style

b)   Choose Inner shadow

c)    Move the distance to 0

d)   Increase the size of the shadow as much as you desire.

Step 5 Adding Color

For this image I wanted a warmer color and a little more contrast

a)    Create a new layer and paint it with this color:

b)   Set the blending mode to Color dodge at 14%

c)    Duplicate the color layer, these time set the blending mode to Color Burn at 21%

Now all the details are visible and sharp

Here you can see a comparison of the original image and the result.
